Gin Fizz
The Gin Fizz is a good after dinner cocktail that is just plain fun to make and drink.
It’s standard glassware is the old fashioned glass, but I prefer it in a Tom Collins or Highball
glass.

The classic recipe is:
Ingredients
- 2.25 oz gin
- 1.5 oz lime juice
- 1 oz simple syrup
- ‘Splash’ of soda water
Preparation
Pour all ingredients except soda water into shaker with ice, and shake until well mixed. Strain into glass and top with soda water.
I don’t make the classic. My recipe for the gin fizz adds 1 egg white, and fill the glass up to 2/3rds then use soda water for the remaining 1/3. Basically a ‘Silver Fizz’ with more soda. The egg white makes smooth bubbles, and I really like my drinks fizzy so the extra soda gives it a nice kick.
So far I’ve tried the Gin Fizz with Tanqueray, and Tanqueray Seville Orange. My best results were with a 50/50 mix of normal Tanqueray and Seville Orange.
